The two predominant glazes in my most recent wood firing were Shino (below) and the White glaze (at bottom).
With both glazes I used some wax resist as can be seen on the vases in both photos. The combination of thin Shino, which became a very bright orange, and the bare clay glazed by the ash formed a quiet contrast.
The White glaze of the bowls and vases below is much more dramatic. The wood firing affects the white glaze less so the pots have a simpler but very bold presentation. The underneath of these pots is highly patterned by ash on the exposed clay.
